Portrait of Nick Peterson

Nick PetersonMechanical engineer, Phoenix area

I’m Nick Peterson, a mechanical engineer in the Phoenix, Arizona area with a background in product development, automation, and prototyping. Again and again I found myself needing a quick formula, a dependable unit conversion, or a straight answer about a fit or a fastener, and piecing it together from dated reference sites, scattered forum threads, and half-remembered textbook pages. I built Engineer Underground to bring those resources into one clean, easy-to-use place for engineers, makers, and students: calculators that show their math, reference guides written in plain language, and tools that work as well on a phone in the shop as on a computer at work. The site is still growing. I’m adding new calculators and guides, refining what’s already here, and shaping it around what people actually need to get their work done.
